Lattice dining table
Product Details
The lattice table from Ariake, a furniture brand from Saga Prefecture,
This dining table incorporates architectural elements that were born from research into the interaction between wood and light.
Industrial design, residential architecture, commercial interiors,
The design was created by Norm Architects, a studio based in the heart of Copenhagen that works in the fields of photography and art direction.
Norm Architects is a firm that embraces the norms and traditions of architecture and design.
Scandinavian design principles, particularly timeless aesthetics and natural materials,
It is important to us to draw inspiration from modernist values of restraint and refinement.
Based on these principles, we create designs that combine materials and craftsmanship,
It embodies beauty, history, and most importantly, timeless simplicity.
Lattice dining table
This design fully demonstrates their values.
The wooden lattice legs were designed with inspiration from the shutters used in architecture to control the light entering a building.
The balance of light and shadow changes depending on the viewing angle, the angle of light entering, and the time of day, recreating a natural space. The tabletop has a tapered finish reminiscent of the bottom of a ship.
By making the tabletop thinner than the actual thickness,
The design of the legs seems to be more prominent.
A series of trees and lights that calm the soul,
The lattice dining table expresses the architectural elements found in traditional Japanese restaurants and shops.
The beautifully balanced design gives it a leading-class presence,
Its architectural elements make it a unique piece that blends seamlessly into any space.
