Haruna Morita "In Harmony with Nature"
- 2025.01.12 - 02.09
-----------------------
It has a feeling that is somewhere between natural and artificial objects.
It's like the feeling of "something" that can't be put into words is embodied.
A three-dimensional work by ceramic artist Morita Haruna.
He focuses on the expressions and appearances of materials transformed by chemical reactions and natural phenomena.
It expresses the phenomena and consciousness that are perceived through the five senses in a sensory way.
The aim of the creation is to create something that seamlessly blends appealing texture and shape.
The keyword in his creations is "Qualia."
This is a term used in the field of neuroscience to mean "sensory texture."
It refers to the pure "feeling" and "quality" itself before it is given meaning in the brain.
The events I have felt up until now pass through the filter of my consciousness,
It is expressed through its relationship with the material, pottery.
Without any conscious meaning or emotion, I try to capture the feeling.
Morita's work continues to be created.
"The Tuning of Nature" was born from a conversation with Mr. Morita.
These are the words that popped into my head.
Morita-san is somehow very natural.
Rather than consciously controlling something,
Accept and adapt to the phenomena and changes that are in front of you.
Those who feel a certain strength and a sense of softness.
Facing the material called ceramic, I repeatedly engage in dialogue with the previous piece,
They even seemed to enjoy the fact that they couldn't control it.
The way the shape is formed as if gently arranging it with your hands is
It felt as if I was in tune with my own senses and the changes and materials of nature.
This kind of harmony between humans and nature
As if it had existed from the beginning
It gives the space a sensuous texture.
